Equipment Operator

Walsh Reclamation Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Operator to support our Reclamation, Excavation, and Exploration projects. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy earth-moving equipment while assisting with site operations, maintenance activities, and overall project completion in remote and field environments.
Pay
$18–$40 per hour depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy earth-moving equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, haul trucks, and other support equipment used in reclamation and excavation work.
- Perform proper equipment start-up, shutdown, and daily inspection procedures, including routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Monitor instrument gauges and equipment indicators to ensure machines operate within safe operating limits.
- Work closely with site supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and maintain efficient project progress.
- Represent Walsh Reclamation Inc. with professionalism, integrity, and a strong team-oriented attitude.
Additional Duties
- Assist with water management, construction, labor, and general maintenance activities as needed.
- Operate utility vehicles and support equipment when required.
- Assist the maintenance team with routine repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Communicate any operational concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation of work performed and equipment usage through BusyBusy App.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment within its capabilities.
- Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects as required.
- Ability to work independently in remote field locations.
- Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and equipment servicing.
- Clean driving record strongly recommended.
- Familiarity with GPS systems is preferred but not required.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations and changing field conditions.
- Strong awareness of workplace safety practices and the ability to identify and report hazards.
- Willingness to work rotating schedules, including up to 12-hour shifts, nights, and weekends when required.
Education & Training
- High School Diploma or GED required (relevant work experience may be substituted).
- Current MSHA training required upon start date.
