Job Summary
The Crusher operator will safely monitor and operate a 3-stage DCS controlled crushing plant, perform general maintenance, cleanup and repair activities, and will operate crushing, screening plant and support equipment.
Responsibilities
· Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and will keep equipment properly maintained.
· Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on loader, crusher, screen and /or wash plant to include screen changes and routine maintenance.
· Safely and properly operate loader, skid steers, water trucks, crusher, and screening plants
· Shovel excess material away from crusher and screening plant unit as necessary
· Communicate effectively (verbal and in writing) and be able to work with difficult people in high stress situations
· Must be self-motivated, a team player with good interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive/courteous customer relations
· Troubleshoot and problem solve in areas such as material quality, equipment operation, repairs, etc.
· Properly wear cartridge half mask respirator for hours at a time as well as all other required PPE
· Ensure that all controls are met. Such as moisture, dust and agglomeration
· Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors
· Proven experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines; must be highly organized with attention to detail
· Accurately complete crushing reports and other documentation as required
· Ensure compliance with MSHA, safety and environmental regulations
· Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
Work Conditions
· Ability to work rotating day/night shifts
· Ability to work overtime may be required
· Ability to work outside in all weather extremes
· Willingness to assist elsewhere on the mine site when needed such as the mining crew, leach crew, etc
· Personal protective equipment is required when performing this work (safety shoes, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, respirator, etc as needed)
· Valid Driver’s License
