Hybrid work – At site/remote combination
This role will oversee general operations costing and financial reporting for operations to ensure that accounting, banking and general ledger information is recorded accurately. Working closely with the accounting, purchasing and payables team to ensure accurate accounting and booking of entries, preparing financial statements and cost reports comparing actuals to budgets and analyzing variances. Improve the functionality of the accounting system. Prepare information for audit and tax filings and other accounting duties as assigned.
Basic job description would be –
- Establish and create financial statements from the start-up of the company through present day and then provide monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Work with accountant to review and post journal entries,
- ensure proper coding of PO’s.
- set up depreciation schedules for assets
- either have the ability to calculate or guide a third party in the calculation of contingent liabilities for inclusion in the financial statements
- work with CFO to create monthly operating cost reports with production KPIs for management review
- preparation of monthly cost reports to compare actuals to budget
- review internal controls
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Strong abilities in excel required, knowledge and use of Quickbooks a plus.
- Work can be done mostly remotely but some time at site will be needed to be familiar with the team and the operations, I expect the accountants to be conversant in the operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent business degree.
- 5 years experience
- Experience with financial reporting requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Good computer skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
