Job Summary
Support, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all electrical equipment and facilities for the mine. Completes planned maintenance, monitors equipment, communicates equipment and facility needs/issues and partners with operations departments and mine planning to provide both tactical and strategic support for the electrical needs of the mine.
Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with and adherence to all MSHA and company safety regulations, policies and procedures.
· Diagnose problems, develop solutions and repair electrical equipment to manufacturer’s and company operating standards
· Maintenance of crusher, belt line, process pant and facilities as needed
· Interprets information from schematics, maintenance and parts manuals
· Utilizes voltmeters, ammeters and related testing apparatuses to test defective equipment
· Test and calibrate electrical components in the field and shop environments
· Determines work areas are safe and free of hazards. Performs field level risk assessments.
· Determines severity of equipment down times and estimates time to make repairs
· Ability to request bids from vendors for parts Installs equipment such as conduit, control panels, motors, lighting, wire pulling, etc.)
· May perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
· Minimum of 4 years work experience in a manufacturing or mining operation
· Must be able to read electrical blueprints and manufacturer’s schematics and manuals
· Ability to troubleshoot effectively with the ability to plan and implement plan
· Must posses good written and verbal communication skills.
· Must have experience in 480 3-phase motor controls and system operation
· Must have experience with low voltage 120V to 24V control systems
· Must be experienced with troubleshooting and repair of PLCs and controls
· Must be knowledgeable of electrical code and installation procedures
