The Shirt Shack NV is a locally owned custom apparel, branding, and signage shop serving teams, schools, and businesses across Northern Nevada. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a full-time Production Manager / Lead Operator to help manage workflow and actively produce custom apparel and vinyl decals.
This is a hands-on production role, not a desk-only management position.
Position Overview
The Production Manager / Lead Operator is responsible for overseeing daily production while also physically producing custom apparel, vinyl decals, and related products. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, staying organized, and keeping projects moving efficiently from start to finish.
This role also includes overseeing, scheduling, and guiding support staff or assistants in the production area to ensure jobs stay on track and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively produce custom apparel and vinyl decals
- Operate heat presses, vinyl cutters, and other production equipment
- Manage daily production schedules and prioritize jobs based on deadlines
- Schedule and assign daily production tasks to support staff or assistants
- Provide direction, training, and oversight to production support team members
- Ensure support staff follow production standards, timelines, and quality expectations
- Oversee orders from approval through completion
- Coordinate materials, supplies, and production readiness
- Ensure accuracy in artwork, quantities, sizes, and job specifications
- Maintain quality control standards across all production work
- Communicate job status and timelines internally
- Assist with workflow organization and process improvement
- Support appointment-based pickups and production coordination as needed
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- On your feet for most of the workday
- Ability to lift and move boxes and materials up to 70 lbs
- Comfortable working with production equipment reaching 300°F+
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs while actively producing work
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Comfortable working with structure, systems, and deadlines while still able to adapt and adjust quickly as priorities change
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with custom apparel production, vinyl decals, or manufacturing is strongly preferred

Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, hourly (non-salaried) position
- Monday–Friday schedule (hours discussed during interview)
- $35,000–$40,000 annually, based on experience, with room for wage growth as skills and responsibilities increase
