Summer Laborer

The Summer Laborer (May/June through August/September) supports safe and efficient site operations by performing general labor duties, inspections, light mechanical work, and site maintenance. This role contributes to maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment while gaining exposure to mining operations and equipment.
This is a temporary summer position (3 months) is based out of Winnemucca, NV with site based work performed across the Nevada sites. The schedule is Monday - Thursday, 4 -10-hour shifts with occasional overtime as required. Some travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform all work safely and in compliance with company policies, MSHA regulations, and environmental standards
• Conduct pre-shift and workplace inspections; identify, report, and help mitigate safety and environmental hazards
• Perform general labor duties including shoveling, material handling, and site clean-up
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas
• Operate and assist in maintaining support equipment such as light vehicles, skid steers, and forklifts
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, including reporting unsafe conditions
• Demonstrate strong attendance, reliability, and accountability
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Must be at least 18 years of age at hire date and authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Must be returning to school (High School or College) for the fall semester.
• General understanding of mining, maintenance, or mechanical systems preferred.
• Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, loaders, or similar equipment preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word) preferred.
• Ability to meet physical demands and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass physical exam, drug screening and background check.
