Optometric Technician needed for a fast-paced, well-established optometry office in Carson City. Applicants may be required to work some Saturday mornings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the office
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
- Gather and verify patient medical history
- Assist doctor during exams with data entry, instrument preparation, etc.
- Assist with training patients for contact lens wear
- Other duties as assigned
Salary is dependent on optical / optometric experience. Training on all procedures and equipment is provided.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- A professional, positive, and friendly attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Direct customer service experience is required. Prior work experience in healthcare or optometry as a technician or optician is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
