Position:
Project Geologist i-80 Gold Corp. has an immediate need for a full-time Project Geologist to support its Nevada-based exploration programs. The Project Geologist works under the Lead Project Geologist to execute drill programs in an efficient and safe manner. The successful candidate will process, compile, and interpret geologic information while also overseeing day to day activities during drill programs. The Project Geologist will align with the organization’s long-term strategy for its projects and mines while adhering to industry regulations and company health, safety, and environmental standards. Work for this position will be based in Golconda, NV at the Lone Tree Mine with exploration focused on the Granite Creek Mine.
Location: Lone Tree Mine, Valmy, NV
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and/or assist in reverse circulation and core drilling programs
• Log reverse circulation drill holes and core holes, prepare digital logs, utilize database software when logging, prepare samples for laboratory submission
• Upload and maintain data in Leapfrog 3D modeling software
• Produce cross sections from 3D modeling software such as Leapfrog and ArcMap
• Project management on selected targets, including preparing budget and managing all logistics, drill planning, core processing, assay interpretation, reporting and ancillary activities related to the overall project
• Demonstrates awareness and commitment to health, community, and environmental protection
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• B.Sc. degree or higher in Geology or Earth Sciences, M.Sc. preferred
• 1-3 years working in mineral exploration with experience in Carlin-Type systems preferred
• Experience in 3-D model creation (Leapfrog) and general data presentation
• Experience with GIS programs and Adobe Illustrator
• Knowledge in database management is beneficial
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and attention to detail
• Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving and organizational skills
